Annecy, strictly kosher
the lake in summer, the Aravis in winter
Annecy sits at the northern tip of Lake Annecy, about 447 m above sea level, and La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand, the two Aravis ski resorts, are 30 to 40 minutes up the valley. Mishpacha Tours organises the kosher side of your stay here, in July as in February: a private chef in your villa or chalet, hot meals delivered to your apartment, Shabbat before candle lighting, the holidays, and a minyan with a Sefer Torah for your dates. One request, one written quote. Stays, transfers and meals are organised and invoiced by our kosher team based in the Alps; Mishpacha Tours sells its guided tours in Lyon.
- Lake Annecy, about 447 m
- About 45 min from Geneva, about 1 h 15 from Lyon airport
- La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand 30 to 40 min away

What we organise in Annecy
- A villa, chalet or apartment with a private chef. Our kosher team based in the Alps makes the kitchen kosher and cooks on site. Every meal of the stay is covered, by the lake in summer or after a day on the slopes in winter.
- Meals delivered to Annecy and the Aravis. Hot meals brought to your villa, apartment or hotel for the week, in town, around the lake or in La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand. Send the number of people and the dates.
- Shabbat before candle lighting. Shabbat meals, challot and wine are delivered on Friday and set before candle lighting. Nothing is delivered on Shabbat or on a holiday.
- The holidays. Hanukkah candles, a Megillah reading and a Purim meal, Pesach on request. Tell us which holiday falls in your week.
- A minyan and a Sefer Torah. Annecy has a small synagogue (see below), but a minyan in your week depends on how many families are in the area. Give us your dates and we group the families who write to us.
- A tailor-made stay, A to Z. Villa or chalet, chef or delivered meals, transfers, Shabbat, the holidays, a minyan: one request, one quote. Large groups and families from abroad are our core; for a very small group asking for one delivery only, say so and we tell you what is feasible.
Strictly kosher. Our kosher team based in the Alps cooks under the Chabad network of the Alps; ask for the supervision details in writing with your quote. Detail of each service: kosher services in the French Alps.
Kosher in Annecy: what is published
Little kosher infrastructure is published for Annecy itself, so planning ahead matters. Checked 8 October 2026.
- A synagogue. 18 rue de Narvik, 74000 Annecy, according to JGuide Europe and a business directory. A press article on the community says it opens on Shabbat and holidays only, because gathering a minyan is difficult, and that the compound has a mikveh for women.
- Kosher shop or restaurant. The same article states that Annecy has no kosher store and no kosher restaurant, and that residents buy kosher food in nearby towns. Not published otherwise: bring your food from Lyon or Geneva, or let us deliver meals to you.
- A Chabad house. No Chabad house is published in Annecy. Our team works under the Chabad network of the Alps.
- Community size. The article puts it at about 50 families. It is a small community, which is why a visiting minyan has to be built ahead.

Summer on the lake, winter in the Aravis
- Summer. Lake Annecy is 14.6 km long and covers 27.6 km², at about 447 m (Wikipedia). Families stay in town, in villas around the lake or in the hills, from June to August. Chef or delivered meals, Shabbat in a rented house, a minyan for a week: tell us your address and dates.
- Winter: La Clusaz. The village is at about 1,040 m and the ski area reaches about 2,600 m. Skiinfo shows an opening on 12 December 2026 and a closing on 25 April 2027, to be confirmed by the resort. About 30 to 33 km and 37 minutes by road from Annecy (mappy.com and kelbillet.com).
- Winter: Le Grand-Bornand. The village is at 1,000 m, Chinaillon at 1,300 m, and the ski area tops out at Mont Lachat, about 2,100 m (skiinfo.fr and france.fr). La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand are linked by a shuttle and a common lift pass.
- Semnoz. The Semnoz massif above Annecy rises from 450 m to 1,699 m (haute-savoie-tourisme.org), a day trip for a family staying in town.
A stay in Annecy often combines the lake and the slopes. One request covers both.
