Cortina d'Ampezzo, strictly kosher
the Dolomites, in winter and in summer
Cortina d'Ampezzo sits at about 1,224 m in a bowl of pale Dolomite rock, in the Veneto.
Cortina d'Ampezzo sits at about 1,224 m in a bowl of pale Dolomite rock, in the Veneto, and it hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956 and again in February 2026. The Dolomites are a World Heritage landscape, with skiing on the Tofana, Faloria and Cinque Torri in winter and high trails and lakes in summer. Mishpacha Tours organises the kosher side of your stay: a private chef in your chalet, hot meals delivered to your apartment, Shabbat, the holidays, and a minyan and a Sefer Torah for your dates. One request, one written quote.

What we organise in Cortina
A chalet or apartment with a private chef. Our kosher team based in the Alps makes the kitchen kosher and cooks on site. In winter you come back from the Tofana slopes to a set table; in summer, from the trail to Cinque Torri or the lakes.
Meals delivered in the valley. Hot meals brought to your chalet, apartment or hotel for the week, for a family or a group, with notice. Tell us if you sleep in the town of Cortina or in a village of the Ampezzo valley around it, since the roads between them are not short in snow.
Shabbat. Shabbat meals, challot and wine delivered on Friday and set before candle lighting. In the Dolomites the winter sun drops behind the peaks early, so we plan Friday around it. Nothing is delivered on Shabbat or on a holiday.
The holidays. Hanukkah, Purim, Pesach or Sukkot in the Dolomites. Tell us which holiday falls in your week.
A minyan and a Sefer Torah. No Chabad house or synagogue is known in Cortina itself (see below), so a minyan is built from the families who write to us for your dates, and the Sefer Torah travels with our team.
A tailor-made stay, A to Z. Chalet, chef or delivered meals, transfers from Venice, Shabbat, the holidays, a minyan: one request, one quote. Families and groups from abroad are our core, including large groups and Hebrew-speaking guests. For a very small group asking for one delivery only, say so and we tell you what is feasible.
Strictly kosher.
Our kosher team based in the Alps cooks under the Chabad network of the Alps.
Everything we serve is Chalav Yisrael.

Kosher in Cortina
Supervision is rarely stated, so check before you book.
Kosher hotel, restaurant or shop in Cortina. None found. Plan to have your food delivered or cooked by our team.
Chabad house or synagogue in Cortina. None found. The nearest Chabad presence we know of is in Venice, in the old Ghetto, about 2 h by road. The Jewish community of Trieste runs a synagogue on via San Francesco d'Assisi, further east.
Elsewhere in the Dolomites. A year-round kosher hotel exists elsewhere in the Dolomites, in the Fassa valley, about 1 h 30 away in good conditions by the mountain passes; allow more in snow, when passes can slow down or close.
The Olympic legacy. The Games of February 2026 left Cortina with the Olympia delle Tofane slope used for women's alpine skiing, the Olympic Ice Stadium of 1956 used for curling, and a sliding track rebuilt from scratch for bobsleigh, skeleton and luge. The town was busy and priced for it, and it is worth booking early for the holidays.
Winter and summer in the Dolomites
Winter. Cortina belongs to the Dolomiti Superski pass, a single lift pass for many valleys. The three sectors that matter here are Tofana, with Tofana di Mezzo at 3,244 m; Faloria and Cristallo, with the Faloria refuge at about 2,123 m; and Falzarego, on the pass at about 2,109 m that links to the Cinque Torri.
Summer. The same peaks open to walkers. The Cinque Torri, at about 2,361 m, are an easy first day. Lake Misurina, at about 1,754 m, has a short flat circuit suited to small children. Lake Braies is further north, in the Pusteria valley. Packed lunches for the trail can be prepared with notice.
Minyan and Shabbat. A minyan depends on how many families are in the valley that week. Give us your dates and we group the families who write to us, with a Sefer Torah. Shabbat candle-lighting times appear at the foot of this page, for the week you travel.
How it works
- 1
Tell us
Cortina, your dates, the number of people, where you sleep, and what you need: a chef, delivered meals, Shabbat, a holiday, a minyan. By WhatsApp or with the form at the bottom of this page.
- 2
We put it together
The same day, we check with our team in the Alps what is possible for your dates in Cortina: chef, kitchen, deliveries, minyan. One contact from start to finish.
- 3
You get one quote
The price depends on the dates, the number of people and the menu. You receive a written quote before you commit to anything.
Getting to Cortina
From Venice Marco Polo airport: the usual choice, about 2 h by road, between 150 and 190 km depending on the route. Fly into Venice, rent a car or book a private transfer, and arrive in daylight in winter. Treviso airport is the other Veneto option; ask your driver for the time.
From Innsbruck airport: about 165 km and 2 h 15 to 2 h 30 over the Brenner and the Val Pusteria. A good choice from Austria or from Germany.
From Milan-Malpensa: about 350 to 400 km, 4 h 30 to 5 h. Choose it only if your flight lands there.
From Lyon-Saint-Exupéry: more than 800 km and at least 8 h 30 of driving through the Mont Blanc tunnel, a full day with the toll. We do not recommend it for a family with children. Arrive by Venice instead; a stop in Lyon on the way is possible: the Stopover, a private 3 hour tour of Jewish Lyon.
Borders and roads: France, Italy and Austria are all in the Schengen area, so there is no routine passport control between them, but carry your passports. Italian motorways charge tolls; mountain roads need winter tyres or chains from mid-November to mid-April.

Yes, for a family or a group, for the week, with notice. Send your dates, the number of people and where you sleep in the valley.
Is there a minyan in Cortina?
No Chabad house or synagogue is known in the town. A minyan depends on how many families are there that week, in winter or in summer. Give us your dates early and we group them, with a Sefer Torah.
