Les Deux Alpes, strictly kosher
a glacier resort at 1,650 m, with a summer kosher season of its own
Les Deux Alpes sits at 1,650 m in Isère, with a glacier above it and about 2 h 10 of road from Lyon-Saint-Exupéry according to j2ski.com. Orthodox families have spent their summers here for decades. Mishpacha Tours organises the kosher side of your week: a private chef in your chalet, hot meals delivered to your apartment, Shabbat, the holidays, and a minyan and a Sefer Torah for your dates. One request, one written quote. Stays, transfers and meals are organised and invoiced by our kosher team based in the Alps; Mishpacha Tours sells its guided tours in Lyon.

What we organise in Les Deux Alpes
- A chalet or apartment with a private chef. Our kosher team based in the Alps makes the kitchen kosher and cooks on site. Every meal of the week is taken care of.
- Meals delivered in the resort. Hot meals delivered to your apartment or your hotel for the week, for a family or a group, with notice.
- Shabbat. Shabbat meals, challot and wine delivered on Friday before candle lighting. Nothing is delivered on Shabbat.
- The holidays. Hanukkah, Purim or Pesach on the mountain. Tell us which holiday falls in your week.
- A minyan and a Sefer Torah. The size of a minyan depends on how many families are in the resort that week. Give us your dates and we group the families who write to us.
- A tailor-made stay, A to Z. Chalet, chef or delivered meals, transfers, Shabbat, the holidays, a minyan: one request, one quote. Families and groups from abroad are our core; for a very small group asking for one delivery only, say so and we tell you what is feasible.
Strictly kosher. Our team cooks under the Chabad network of the Alps; ask for the supervision details in writing with your quote.
Kosher in Les Deux Alpes: what is published
- A kosher summer season. AFP (Sud Radio, 23 August 2026) reports that Orthodox Jewish families have come to Les Deux Alpes in summer for decades, and that a Beth Loubavitch seminar of several hundred people, held over three weeks, moves between Alpine resorts.
- Shops and food. The same article places a kosher supermarket in the resort (photographed on 19 August 2026), kosher restaurants, and a kosher crêpe and ice-cream stand. Opening dates outside August are not published.
- Whole hotels. The article says kosher organisations often rent entire hotels in the Alpine resorts for the summer. No hotel or programme is named for Les Deux Alpes.
- Winter programmes. No kosher hotel or winter programme for Les Deux Alpes appeared in the sources we read (8 October 2026). Not published.
Supervision is rarely published. Ask before you book, and ask for it in writing.
Minyan and Shabbat in Les Deux Alpes
No Chabad house is published in Les Deux Alpes itself. Our own minyan depends on how many families are in the resort that week: give us your dates. For a minyan, the team works with the Chabad network of the Alps on the Grenoble side.
Shabbat times: check Hebcal for Les Deux Alpes and your week, and set your meals before candle lighting.
Safety, without alarm
In mid-August 2026, a video filmed in the resort showed a shopkeeper making remarks to an Orthodox Jewish man. The Interior Minister condemned them as antisemitic, and the case was sent to the Grenoble prosecutor's office, according to AFP (23 August 2026). The same report quotes families who say they feel welcome.
A professional escort is available on request and on quote, in the resort as in Lyon. Our standard and the sourced facts are on Is Lyon safe for Jewish visitors?.
